Surf and Sand Resort Custom Wave Planters

The Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach recently completed a major, multi-phase renovation transforming all 165 Guest Rooms and Public Spaces, including the Lobby, Restaurant, Spa and Event facilities. This Renovation included the development and manufacturing of Custom GFRC Wave Planters for the property.

The ARCHPOT design team worked closely with The Surf and Sand Resort to develop, prototype, produce molds, GFRC cast, concrete finish and deliver these beautiful examples of Custom Wave Planters. The Wave Planters include Bowl and Planter versions and are placed abundantly throughout this popular seaside resort in Laguna Beach, CA.

The Hotel opened in 1948 and appealed to artist and Hollywood Stars. In 2021 it became a member of the Historic Hotels of America. The Surf and Sand Resort is located in Laguna Beach near the town’s boutiques, cafes, galleries and beaches. Yucca Valley Residence

Westwood Gateway

Westwood Gateway is located in the highly desirable area of West Los Angeles and minutes away from downtown and Pacific Coast beaches. This landmark office complex features three stunning travertine clad high rises with 820,000 SF of premium workspace and two multi-story parking structures. Amenities include open space seating, two cafes, fitness center, dry cleaning and Koi pond.

The Irvine Company contracted ARCHPOT to create Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete Planters and Trash Recycle Systems for this important project. Landscape Architects reviewed and analyzed offerings and specified appropriate products to complete the design and maintain functionality.

A combination of ARCHPOT Legacy Tall Planters and Executive Tall Planters, planted with manicured Palm Trees, were used to highlight the stairways. Executive Low Bowls were planted and placed in downstairs seating areas to create inviting spaces. Legacy Round Planters were paired with Legacy Tall Trash Recycle Systems to create form and provide waste solutions.

Residential Fire & Water Feature Project

Landscape Designers and Homeowners have shifted from built in wall fireplaces to the use of fire tables. Mixed fire glass refers to the mixing of usually three different glass colors, in precise amounts, creating a designer product. An example of this would be our Tuscan Reserve which uses a translucent clear, brown tones and hints of reflective gold. This fire glass comes to life when lit, creating a shimmering array of color.

Irvine Spectrum Center

Located in the sprawling metro area of Orange County, the Irvine Spectrum Center is a hub for shopping, movies, dining and entertainment. This well known destination recently underwent a design upgrade and Architectural Pottery was specified to supply new Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete landscape containers for the project. Chief landscape designers at The Irvine Company supplied plans, specified styles and custom finishes to be included in the design.

Architectural Pottery first supplied proof products for approvals and then went into full production. Over 140 large containers were produced at Architectural Pottery’s on site manufacturing facility and custom finishes applied by experienced staff artists. Products were shipped and installed then planted by professional landscapers according to original design specifications. This successful ongoing project is currently enjoyed by tenants and visitors from around the world.

Hotel Del Coronado

The legendary Hotel Del Coronado beach front resort near San Diego, CA. is currently undergoing a multi-phase renovation featuring ARCHPOT Fire Tables and Burner Systems.

An ARCHPOT Belize Rectangle Fire Table has been installed in the upper deck patio area, inviting guests to enjoy spectacular Pacific sunsets. Beach front seating areas were created featuring ARCHPOT Belize Round Fire Tables to allow visitors a more intimate vacation experience.

Improvements are currently underway to the existing 97 Cabana guestrooms, including a design upgrade and the addition of outdoor fire tables, chaises, and cabanas. Private Villas are being constructed as well as extensive renovations to the 214 existing guestrooms. A new Event Center is being developed on the south side of the resort, as well as, upgrades to the properties outdoor Vista Terrace event venue, restaurants, and bars.
